Formed in the early 60’s from Buster Meikel and the Daybreakers and the Hunters, Unit 4+2 were formed as a 4 piece called The Unit but added 2 extra members and added Plus 2 to the name. Concrete and Clay charted and shot to number 1 in early 1965 thanks to pirate radio stations playing the record over and over. The follow up single Never Been In Love Like This Before reached number 14 in the top 20 but kept the band charting.

Numerous changes came in the band and in 1969 it disbanded but reformed by drummer Michael Ingle and is still there after 41 years but now frontman with a really terrific 3 piece behind him.

If you like the 60’s you’ll love this group who sing hits from the 50’s and the 60’s.
